eyescream and friends turns 4!

September 6 marks a special day for eyescream and friends as the company turned 4 years old.

After birthday celebrations the team have started to look back on everything that we have achieved over the past 4 years, from the day our Barceloneta store opened its doors for the very first time.

Where it all began….

Naturally, the opening is a fond memory for Joad and Federico. From the initial idea of an innovative mix of shaved ice and Western gelato, they loved creating the concept, from the candy eyes to the fun-loving eyescream characters.

The industry

We are extremely proud of the coverage and awards that we have received as they reinstate our hard work and passion.

To name a few that we are proud of:

  • Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor for the second year running
  •  The Best Identity Award at the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards 2013
  • Appearing on local TV channel ‘Friday TV’
  • Features from numerous media channels, including Insider, Financial Times andTime out magazine
  • Bloggers visiting the store. It’s always great to get feedback from foodies

Joad and Federico have loved being given the opportunity to inspire others as they’ve given academic talks at both the EABA and EU Business School. The pair love to share their advice and industry knowledge, especially as EABA is where they met.

Eyescream expansion 2016

Marks the year our eyescream monsters went international. Starting with Egypt in April and Singapore this month, we greatly anticipate our stores in Dubai and Kuwait later this year. Keep an eye out for expansion news!

And last, but absolutely not least…The foundation of our company, the team really cannot be forgotten. Alongside all the hard work we’ve had great fun, both inside and outside of work. We really are One Cool Team.We’ve loved the journey so far and have you, our customers, to thank for this. We look forward to serving eyescream and smiles for many years to come!
